This is it. As of right now I have finished every Kingdom Hearts game still playable. Watched the trailers for KH4, and the trailers for Missing Link, the Pokemon Go styled game that was cancelled. And watched the parts of the browser game that I can't play. I still have to play Dark Road, and I could also play through that rhythm game, but as KH4 is probably still really far away I can take my time with Dark Road, I'm caught up.
I personally think KH3 is the worst game of the series, It is insanely boring to play. I complained about flowmotion being too strong in Dream Drop Distance, but at least that still had you in full control of playing the game. The Attractions attacks in KH3 are so good, and so boring. Forcing you to basically watch a long cutscene that basically wins the fights for you, that happens so often the game doesn't have time to give you any challenge. Its definitely flashy, especially the scripted ones, but its flashiness gets old with how often they happen. Yeah you can try to tell me not to use them, but no, that's not how this works. When i get the option to use them, I will use them, they are really really good.
I also think KH3 is weirdly easy. It doesnt make sense for a series of really hard games to suddenly be so easy. If a fan got through the series to this point, they would be a fan of a difficult series of games. It doesn't make sense to me, to make the game super casual. Every other game in the series kicked my ass hard. OR rather they at least made me die a few times in battle. I did not even die a single time playing KH3.
I also think KH3 has the worst Disney World in the whole series. None of the games before this has a world as bad as the San Fransokyo, Big Hero 6 world. It felt so lazy. I thought the Mulan world in KH2 was bad, but compared to this, it was a full game. The Big Hero 6 world, had you start in Hiro's garage, talk to Hiro to get an objective, complete some chore, and the game goes back to Hiro's garage, and you do that a few more times. No world to traverse. The map itself was a big open city with some buildings you can climb, but there isn't really much to do there, except chase after some enemies, and do the chores Hiro has yet to give you a waypoint for.
Honestly the Frozen world and the Tangled world were pretty bad too. Since theyre so just recapping the Disney movies and making all the cool bits cutscenes. But at least they still had meaningful gameplay and not just a list of chores.
All these complaints aside though. I enjoyed myself, the game had a bunch of cool parts. I like how the game really made you feel like the whole journey was worth going through with how everything tied together and wrapped up in this game. and I really enjoyed the Re Mind DLC even considering how much of it was just resuing the final battles and cutscenes of the game. I do wish the DLC would have let you know when the cutscene being shown had nothing new in it, so I can know which ones are safe to skip. I felt like I was forced to sit through it all just in case something in them was different and that's unnecessary fluff.
I still don't know why Aqua is such a beloved character though
